Yes, I feel very safe, and I'm having a wonderful time. I am incapable of being pickpocketed because I'm only wearing Chico's and none of mine have pockets! My money is in a under-my-clothes waist pack, and, as I already am quite thick-waisted, it just looks like me!
I have a tour guide often with me,which helps immensely as so few things are translated into English, and I'm quite cautious when I don't, so I haven't had any particularly anxious moments.
I will say, however, it is a major downer not understanding nor speaking any of the language. Yet another reason to love FRANCE! (France is still where I live in my heart.)
